Anne DeLaney, AIA
Originally from North Carolina, Anne came to Eugene in 1985 to study Architecture at the UO with John Reynolds & Charlie Brown - early pioneers in energy efficient, sustainable design. She gained valuable experience working in firms in London and Eugene before she joined Sara to form Bergsund DeLaney Architecture & Planning, PC in 2000. Her goal was to develop an architectural practice focused on the design of a more sustainable and equitable built environment. Anne particularly enjoys working with non-profit, mission driven clients who are dedicated to improving the lives of people through affordable housing, social services and sustainable economic development. But she equally enjoys working with individual clients to transform their homes and work spaces into a perfect fit for their needs.
Anne continues to have an active relationship with the UO School of Architecture as an adjunct studio instructor, providing students an opportunity to interact with clients and wrestle with the constraints of designing in the real world. In return, she is inspired and rejuvenated by their enthusiasm, creativity and idealism. Having lived in Eugene for more than two decades, Anne is deeply engaged in the Eugene/Springfield community. An avid volunteer and supporter of St. Vincent DePaul Society of Lane County and a participant of various City of Eugene advisory committees for many years, she currently serves as president of the Board of Directors for the Eugene Ballet Company.
When not working, Anne can be found at the Ballet, exploring the Northwest or reading a good novel! For an annual mental "reboot," she can be found adventuring in some distant corner of the world with her husband Rudy.
